As a system-affiliated educator, you are independent, but never alone!

As an Empower-affiliated educator, you will have a team of experienced, passionate professionals working alongside you who are invested in the success of your small business and a network of peers who understand the unique challenges and benefits of Family Child Care. Empower serves as a point of referral ensuring enrollment and streamlining billing and payment processes. Our longstanding staff has served the FCC System for many years at Empower, which has allowed for the cultivation of positive, trusting and productive connections. These connections foster success for children, families and educators, alike.

We do not require you to enroll a predetermined number of children referred through Empower.

Yes. You can independently accept private pay clients into your family child care, but Empower does not provide oversight for the private clients in your care.

Family Child Care is an open system which encourages the enrollment of children eligible for financial assistance through EEC as well as private enrollments. EEC sets the rates of reimbursement for children who receive childcare financial assistance.

As an Empower-affiliated educator, you are an independent contractor. You will receive a Form 1099 from Empower at the end of the year that documents your non-employment income.

Yes! You are entitled to 13 paid holiday closures, 5 earned Paid Time Off (PTO) days, and up to 5 Professional days.

Yes. Empower requires all affiliated educators to have an active liability insurance policy listing Empower as a “Named Additional Insured”. You must submit a current coversheet of your policy prior to enrollment.
