Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation
We know that being an early education teacher can be challenging, and we want you to know you have our support. At your invitation, we observe educators in the classroom setting and make suggestions to optimize teaching strategies. Our Consultation Services for Children program is dedicated to nurturing the social-emotional development and behavioral well-being of children in early education and care programs. Our consultations offer valuable insights and compassionate guidance in recognizing and addressing the emotional and behavioral needs of young children within their early education environments.
Enhancing Early Education Environments
Empower’s Consultation Services for Children is grant funded by the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC). Our dedicated consultants collaborate with educators, program leadership and families to observe children in their natural educational environment and offer strategies and resources that promote the development of positive social-emotional learning. Consultants facilitate screening tools, identify risk factors and provide reflective practice focusing on strength-based approaches for responding to challenging or atypical behaviors.
Consultations can center on an individual child, a general classroom or on a program as a whole. Referrals can be made by educators, families or collateral supports.

Empower’s Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation Program employs mental health clinicians with experience in early intervention, social work, and childcare program management, in various settings.
